We created our babies!! It was super fun :) today we did an experiment with diapers. The diaper we used held a little under two full water bottles. I can't believe that. the inside of a diaper is filled with weird crystal stuff that's full of chemicals

Im pretty sure i just failed the test so go me. But we watched a movie this week that was about in home birth and how they have midwives. Midwives deliver the baby for the mother and doctor them at home. They are specially trained to do many tests as well as deliver the baby.

This week we didn't have school on Monday, so we had a four day week. On Tuesday we watched the movie "Miracle of Life" and witnessed child birth. From the movie I also learned how the process of fertilization occurred. The sperm contain an enzyme in their head that allows them to enter the eggs wall. Once the sperm enters the egg, the egg sends a signal though out itself that doesn't allow anymore sperm to enter it. I thought that was pretty interesting.

This week we did an experiment to simulate what alcohol does to a baby with an egg. After a few days of sitting in alcohol the raw egg(once cut opened) was cooked. That is truly a scary thought! We also went over more steps of pregnancy and we have started a new project. This project is over birth defects. In my group we recieved spinal-bifida as our subject to research. It's kinda scary. :/
